Our three gîtes in Monein (3*) are spacious, comfortable and located in the heart of Béarn, southwest France's best-kept secret. Surrounded by beautiful hills and vineyards, it's the perfect location for exploring the Jurançon vineyards, the historic city of Pau, Navarrenx and Oloron-Sainte-Marie, the Pyrenees, the Atlantic coast and northern Spain. Numerous restaurants, bars, bakeries and a supermarket can be found in Monein, around 2 km from here, not forgetting the magnificent church of St Girons, renowned for its exceptional carpentry. The Béarn is well known for its beautiful scenery, friendly people, interesting history and fantastic gastronomy.
The gîtes have been converted in the barns of our 17th century farmhouse to the highest standards. With 3 hectares of land, you'll feel like you're in the countryside, even though the village and all its amenities are just a stone's throw away. Each gîte has everything you need to feel at home and benefits from its own outdoor space, whether a private garden or a balcony overlooking the valley and mountains. Choose one of our 2-bedroom properties, or our 1-bedroom apartment, to suit your needs. There's plenty of space to park your car. A secure barn for your bikes is available on request.

Visit the local independent Vineyards
We're in the heart of the Jurançon wine region, with many excellent vineyards within easy reach, so you're spoilt for choice! Tastings and tours can be organized throughout the year. Just let us know your requirements.
Explore the Pyrenees
The magnificent mountain range is clearly visible from our property. Several ski resorts are easily accessible in winter, and the fantastic landscape is ideal for outdoor activities during the summer months. We can provide walking guide books if required.
Historic market towns
The historic and picturesque towns of Navarrenx, Oloron, Orthez and Sauveterre de Béarn are within easy reach, and the spa town of Salies de Béarn, famous for its salt, is well worth a visit during your stay with us. All have a market on at least one day per week.
Plenty of activities to enjoy
A wide variety of outdoor activities, including cycling, walking, swimming (municipal pool in Monein and water park nearby), fishing, horse riding, canoeing and white water rafting, canyoning, painting, bird watching, yoga and more are available locally. There's plenty to do when it rains too, such as a visit to Monein's own spa.
Spend a day in Pau
A trip to the historic and picturesque town of Pau, just 25 minutes away, is not to be missed, with plenty of cultural, tourist, shopping, gastronomic and sporting activities for all ages.
Visit the Atlantic coast and Basque country
The vast sandy beaches of the Landes and the beautiful Basque coast with famous towns like Biarritz, Bayonne and St-Jean-de-Luz are just over an hour's drive from here. The coast is famous for surfing, so don't forget to bring your wetsuit!
